Types of Financial Technology/Fintech Services Known by Indonesians (July 2025)

Katadata Insight Center (KIC) surveyed the Indonesian public's knowledge of financial technology (fintech) services.
One of its findings was that the most widely known type of fintech service is digital wallets or e-wallets, which are familiar to 94.6% of respondents.
Broken down by service provider, GoPay is the most recognized e-wallet by 93.8% of respondents, followed by DANA at 91.5%, and Shopee Pay at 86.85%.
The next most widely known type of fintech service is paylater (74.6%).
Some respondents also know about digital investment (55.2%), money transfer services (50.1%), online loans (42.2%), and digital insurance (32.7%).
KIC's survey also found that 95.8% of respondents believe fintech can help meet urgent financial needs quickly and efficiently.
Fintech is also considered capable of helping reduce transaction costs (95.1%) and assisting in making better financial decisions (92%).
KIC conducted this online survey from July 19-27, 2025, involving 637 respondents across Indonesia.
The majority, or 63.3%, of respondents were millennials (27-42 years old), 32.7% Gen Z (17-26 years old), and 4% Gen X (42-58 years old).
